I wrote this poem in my spare time, tell me what you think.
a rose to begin
a rose to end
from being a lover
to being a friend
i look back now with but one regret
that i will never be able to forget
everything that i held close
all the things I loved the most
everything has been erased
the pages of my heart are blank
do not think that first love dies
it will live on throughout our lives
one last time i search your eyes
but all thats left are thoughtless lies
forget not my words to you
despite the lies my words are true.

hmmmmmmm. first love? yesssss.
i like everything except for the “has now become something gross” rhyme. i know you had difficulty finding a good word that rhymed with close… but be creative. personally, thats the only thing i could find wrong. which means its good. peace.
